Playing Through Pain: Embiid Reveals Pre-Playoff Bell's Palsy Diagnosis
Sixers' Embiid Reveals Bell's Palsy Diagnosis Despite 50-Point Performance
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid dropped a 50-point bomb in Game 3 against the Knicks, but the All-Star center did it while battling Bell's palsy, a form of facial paralysis.

Embiid disclosed his diagnosis after the win, explaining he's experienced blurred vision, dry eyes, and weakness on the left side of his face since before the play-in tournament.
Initially attributing the symptoms to migraines, Embiid eventually sought medical attention. "My body was just not feeling it," he said. "It's been tough, but I'm not a quitter."
Despite the condition, Embiid dominated on the court, shooting 13-of-19 from the field and draining five three-pointers. However, the Knicks still hold a 2-1 series lead heading back to Philadelphia for Game 4.
Embiid, the reigning MVP, remains optimistic about his recovery but has no set timeline. "It could be weeks, it could be months," he said. "I just hope it stays like this."
